• The gold standard 100% human hair extensions are safe to color, but the silver standard synthetic hair extensions line colors cannot be altered. Please note that LOX cannot replace or refund any product that has been colored or chemically treated. We recommend using a professional hair colorist only when trying to blend the hair extensions with your natural hair. When coloring the extensions, it is recommended to use ammonia free, demi or a semi- permanent color to prevent any dryness. We recommend adding ¼ gold into your formula to prevent extensions from picking up too much of a neutral /cool tone.
• We never recommend lightening the extensions, as they have already undergone chemical processing and further treatment will sacrifice the integrity of your hair extensions. We always recommend ordering the hair in a lighter shade, and then darkening them with a gentler product. If you need to lighten the hair, a non-ammonia lightener is best (with no more than 20 volume peroxide). Prior to coloring the entire set of hair extensions, we suggest testing the hair color on a small section of hair to make sure your color results are what you desire.

You should wash your hair extensions depending on how often you wear them. If you wear the clip-ins everyday, wash them once a month. For occasional use, wash them once every three months, or when buildup of product or dryness starts to occur.
Steps for Shampooing:
Before shampooing, gently remove any tangles with a wide tooth comb, pick or brush. Holding the extensions at the clips, rinse the extensions with cold water (using warm or hot water will damage the extensions). Let the water run in the direction from clips to the ends of the hair. To avoid tangles do not drench the hair extensions.
Shampoo the hair under cold water and gently stroke the hair downward starting from the top of the weft down to the ends.
Allow extensions to dry overnight.
Steps for Conditioning:

Condition the hair in a downward stroke while leaving the conditioner in for 3-5 minutes. Do not apply the conditioner to the base of the extensions.
Carefully brush the hair while conditioner is still in.
Rinse thoroughly with cold water.
Blot (do not scrub) hair dry with a towel and allow to dry overnight.
